Digital Innovation Process Innovation

Question: Describe about the Digital Innovation for Process Innovation. Answer: Ford announced that in 2021, an autonomous car would be developed and in order to build that car, numbers of digital innovation are required, which includes Velodyne, SAIPS, Nirenberg Neuroscience and civil maps. Reviewing with Darwin the type of corporate innovation on which Ford focuses include customer-oriented innovation, product innovation, process innovation and strategic innovation (Media.ford.com 2016). The announcement of Ford is classified with the help of different types of digital innovation, which includes Context, Complexity and Courage. In order to announce the innovation of autonomous cars as digital innovation, strong leaders gather different types of preferences and priorities from the organization. Innovation needs flexibility in order to allow the employees to be more creative for building the autonomous cars rather becoming tactical as well as execution focused. The innovation team requires courage as well as agility for achieving their objectives of building the autonomous car that is totally based on digital innovation. The four stages of product life cycle include introduction stage, growth stage, maturity stage and decline stage (Sundareswara et al. 2013). The introduction stage is considered as the most expensive stage by Ford as the size of market for the autonomous cars are small. The Growth stage is characterized with increase in sales as well as profits as the organization achieves benefit from economies of scale of production. In the maturity stage, the autonomous cars are established and the main aim is maintaining of the market share. When the market for autonomous cars will start shrinking then the stage is known as decline stage.
